This cast iron and bronze tetsubin is of the Meiji period. The lid is bronze and the cast iron body features mountains and mountain village scenes. The piece is in wonderful condition; the brass finial is bent and there is rust in the interior, which is usual in tetsubins of this age. It measures 8" x 9" high. The signature is in a square on the bottom but worn and unreadable.
